Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 7, 2026

Overview

Homeroom ("the App") is a family organizer for households: a shared family board, chores and a weekly payday, goals and habits, and a weekly family meeting. It is published by Parent-AI LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Washington, United States ("Parent-AI LLC," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information the App collects, why, and the choices you have.

The short version: your household's data belongs to your family. We collect only what the App needs to work, we never sell it, we show no ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Information We Collect

Account information

Parents sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. From the provider we receive your name, your email address (which may be an Apple private relay address if you choose "Hide My Email"), and a unique identifier for your account. We use these to create and secure your account and to show your name to the other members of your household. We never see your Apple or Google password.

Household content

Everything your family enters into the App: the household name, member display names, spaces and the ideas, tasks, and proposals on the family board, chores and jobs, allowance ledger entries, goals, weekly check-ins, habits, and family-meeting notes. This content is stored so it can be shared with the members of your household and shown back to you across your devices.

Push notifications (optional)

If you allow notifications, the App sends your device's push token to our servers so we can deliver notifications through Apple Push Notification service. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings, and the App's own notification budget keeps them to a small number per day.

Technical information

Our servers keep standard request logs (timestamps, request paths, response codes, and IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to build profiles.

Children in Your Household

Homeroom is designed to be used by a whole family, including children, under the direction of a parent. A parent creates a child's profile and chooses the display name. A child joins by entering a one-time claim code that the parent generates inside the App: children do not need an email address, an Apple Account, or a Google account, and we do not ask children for any personal information.

The information associated with a child's profile is limited to the display name the parent entered and the child's activity in the App (for example, chores completed, habit ticks, and items they added to the board). Parents control this data: a parent can see it, and a parent can delete the child's profile and its data, or delete the entire household, at any time. We do not show advertising to anyone, we do not use analytics or tracking on children, and we never sell or share children's information. If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent's involvement, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

How We Use Information

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it.

Assistant Features

Some features of Homeroom use an AI model to help your family. When you capture a thought on the family board, the App may ask the model to suggest how to split or file it, and once a week the App may prepare a short brief for the parents ahead of the family meeting. To do this, we send the relevant text (the thought you captured, or the household's recent board, chores, goals, and habits activity), the first names and roles of household members, space names, and the date and time zone to Anthropic, whose Claude models we use through Anthropic's commercial API. Under those commercial terms Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. Suggestions are always shown to a person before anything changes, and money and allowance figures are never sent to the model.

Optional Connectors

A parent may choose to connect Homeroom to an AI assistant they already use, such as Claude or ChatGPT, so that assistant can read and update the household on your behalf. This only happens if you start the connection yourself and approve it on a consent screen that shows exactly which permissions are being granted. You can disconnect at any time from the assistant's own connector settings. Data shared through a connector is governed by that assistant provider's privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

The App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, does not use your device's advertising identifier, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your household's data for as long as your account exists so your family can keep using it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Delete account inside the App. Deleting your account removes your account with us; if you are the only parent in the household, the whole household and all of its data, including children's profiles, are deleted as well. You can also email us to request deletion or a copy of your data, and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

Connections to our servers use TLS, data at rest is encrypted, sign-in tokens are stored in the device's secure keychain, and each household's data is isolated so that only its own members can read it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of family data.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the App, and you can always contact us. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the App.
